A new number was given to apply through as the previous one provided was for the testing stage of the system, now there is an official WhatsApp number.
The requirements for applying remain that you need to be 18 years or older but no older than 65, unemployed and not be receiving any social grants.
You will need to provide the following when you apply: Identity document (ID), banking details, cellphone number and proof of residential address.
Applications are open and you can now apply through WhatsApp. You can do this by sending a message to 082 046 8553.Â

The amount to be paid to qualifying applications will be R370 per month from May until October.
Payments for the grant were promised to be made on the 15th of May.
