So, first of all, you need to change your SASSA SRD R370 payment method to Pick n Pay. I will outline every step in detail you are required to switch your payment method below:

1. Access the SASSA Web Portal

Visit the SASSA web portal using this link: https://srd.sassa.gov.za/. Scroll down to the bottom, and you will find two sections:

  • One for Asylum Seekers and Special Permit Holders
  • And the other for South African ID holders.

Click on the “click here to proceed” option based on your citizenship status.

2. Identity Verification

Now, you are required to verify your identity based on your citizenship status.

For South African ID Card Holders:

Go to the “How do I change my banking details” section and input your 13-digit South African ID Number from your South African ID card or Green ID Book.

After clicking the secure link sent to you via SMS, a form will open where you can select your payment method. Choose ‘Pick n Pay’ as your SRD grant payment method in this form.

Now, go ahead and submit the form. SASSA will need about 14 business days to check your details before approval.

Once SASSA approves your request, you’ll get an SMS notification. After that, you can pick up your payment from any till point at Pick n Pay stores.

After switching your payment method, let’s move towards how you can collect your grant payment at Pick n Pay. Please follow the below steps to collect:

1. Gather Necessary Documents & Information

Before visiting the Pick n Pay store, please make sure you have the following things:

  • Your ID card
  • The cell phone number you used when you applied for your grant.
  • A text message from SASSA saying your grant got approved for the current month

You must have the above essentials to receive your grant payment at Pick n Pay.

2. Go to Your Nearest Pick n Pay Store

Head to your nearest Pick n Pay store now. You can locate the closest branch and check their operating hours on Pick n Pay’s official website using this link: https://www.pnp.co.za/storelocator/.

Please note that each Pick n Pay store has different times, so you must confirm this before visiting.

3. Request Your Grant Payment at the Counter

After reaching the store, go to the till point and ask the representative if you are here to collect your SRD R350 grant payment.

4. Verify Your Identity

Now, the representative will ask you to provide your ID card and mobile number. They will also request that you show them the SMS you received from SASSA confirming this month’s grant approval.

Please provide and show all the necessary details to the representative, including the SASSA message.

5. Approve the USSD Message

Now, a USSD message will pop up on your cell phone. Approve it to receive your payment. This extra layer of security makes your grant secure so no one else can access your grant funds.

6. Get Your SRD Grant Payment

After the USSD message approval, the Pick n Pay representative will hand over your grant payment in cash.

So, that’s it. You see how it is easy to collect your grant payments from the Pick n Pay store. Switch your SASSA payment method to Pick n Pay today to access your SRD funds faster.

Note: You can collect your grant payments from any Pick n Pay collection point, excluding BP Pick n Pay Express, Pick n Pay Clothing, and Pick n Pay Liquor stores.
